The pineapple auction closed Friday 2 February and sold for $220 with funds donated directly to Sands Qld.
See details below of the auction.
The biggest pineapple in the world is going under the hammer in Cairns in the name of charity!
OK, well maybe it’s not the biggest, but it’s certainly the longest in the Far North and it casts a long shadow over anything you’ll find at Rusty’s.
At a whopping 35 centimetres, featuring a 14cm crown, this fructose-filled beast will be a guaranteed talking point atop any table.
It’s literally longer than a bottle of champagne! And if you’re the winning bidder, you’ll have plenty of reasons to be popping corks.
The prize pineapple is being auctioned off as part of the fundraising for Ride for Isabel – which aims to raise awareness and funds for Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Support Queensland.
So “Go Troppo” and get involved in what’s got to be the most Far-North-Queenslandy fundraiser of the year.
If the winning bid is over $500 I will even throw in a chilled bottle of Moët.
A tax receipt will be provided for the winning bid. Start your bidding by commenting below.
Bidding will close at 4pm Friday 2 February so you can enjoy sipping the world’s tallest pina colada this weekend.
